Burnout to Beauty: Romnie's Journey to Empowering Women Through Confidence

Atelier Confidence, founded by Romnie Cesar, is more than just a place to improve your appearance—it’s a sanctuary for women who seek results-driven skincare, integrative wellness, and, most importantly, a renewed sense of self. Romnie’s journey to creating this empowering space is as compelling as the mission behind her work. From a career in pediatric hospital medicine to a flourishing practice in aesthetic medicine, her story is one of resilience, reinvention, and the pursuit of a deeper calling.
Romnie’s career began in pediatric hospital medicine, where she made a significant impact serving at some of the nation’s top children’s hospitals. Her expertise extended beyond bedside care into academia, where she held faculty positions at prestigious institutions like NYU and Rutgers University. For years, she thrived in the demanding world of hospital life, where each day presented new challenges and an opportunity to help children and their families.
But with success came exhaustion. The high demands of her career left Romnie facing a familiar yet often unspoken challenge: burnout.
That's when she reached a point where she realized that while she was giving everything to her career, she wasn’t giving enough to herself. She knew she needed to make a change—not just for her, but for the impact she wanted to have on others.

This realization sparked a pivotal shift in Romnie’s life—a move towards a career that could be just as healing but more intentional and restorative.
The transition from pediatric medicine to aesthetic medicine wasn’t just professional—it was deeply personal. Romnie had always been fascinated by the intersection of science and self-care, and her growing interest in aesthetics felt like a natural extension of her medical background. However, her passion didn’t end with skin-deep beauty; she saw aesthetics as a holistic approach to wellness and self-confidence.
Along the way, Romnie embraced yoga, becoming a certified yoga teacher. This experience deepened her understanding of the mind-body connection and reinforced her belief that confidence is not just a physical trait—it is a powerful form of healing. She began to understand that beauty is more than how you look; it’s how you feel, and true beauty stems from inner well-being.
Her transition was a journey of healing. She wanted to build something that allowed her to offer more than just skin-deep treatments. At Atelier Confidence, every treatment is an opportunity to empower women, to help them feel radiant and confident in their own skin.

With this philosophy, Romnie founded Atelier Confidence, a boutique skincare studio designed to help women look and feel their best—inside and out. At the core of the studio’s offerings are advanced skincare, clinically proven aesthetic treatments, and integrative wellness solutions. Romnie specializes in regenerative skincare and natural-looking injectables that support healthy aging and promote glowing, youthful skin.
Her approach to skincare is grounded in science, but she also emphasizes self-care as a crucial component of overall well-being. Atelier Confidence isn’t just a place for a facial or a quick fix—it’s a space where women come to reset, rejuvenate, and reconnect with themselves.
She believed that when women feel confident, they are unstoppable. Confidence is medicine—it’s the key to unlocking your fullest potential. At Atelier Confidence, they give their clients more than just beautiful skin; they give them the confidence to take on the world.
Romnie’s philosophy is simple but transformative: confidence is medicine. Whether she’s helping a client restore their skin’s health, providing a rejuvenating facial, or guiding someone through an aesthetic treatment, Romnie’s goal is to help each client leave feeling empowered, radiant, and ready to take on the world.
At Atelier Confidence, every experience is designed to help clients embody this confidence—because beauty is not just what you see, it’s what you feel. And when you feel confident, you can conquer anything. Romnie’s journey—from pediatric hospital medicine to becoming a beacon of confidence and empowerment through aesthetic medicine—is proof that healing and transformation are possible at any stage in life. She has created a space that allows women to embrace their beauty fully, unapologetically, and confidently. And in doing so, she’s helping them discover something even more valuable than youthful skin—she’s helping them discover their power.

Interview with Romnie Cesar
After over a decade in healthcare and nursing education, what inspired you to pivot into aesthetic medicine, and how has your background shaped your approach to beauty and skin health?
After more than ten years in pediatric hospital medicine and nursing education, I found myself burned out and yearning for a more holistic and fulfilling path. Aesthetic medicine allowed me to combine my clinical expertise with my passion for wellness, creativity, and beauty. My background has given me a deep respect for the science behind skin health and the emotional and psychological impact of how we feel in our skin. I take a whole-person approach—merging medical precision with mindfulness and intentionality
Launching a med spa in NYC is a bold move. What sets your practice apart, and what message do you hope to send to clients seeking confidence and care on their beauty journey?
Atelier Confidence isn’t just a med spa—it’s a sanctuary. Our deeply personalized, science-forward approach to skincare and aesthetic treatments sets us apart, especially for women of color who are often overlooked in the industry. I’ve designed every detail of our studio to feel like an experience: thoughtful, elevated, and affirming. Our message is simple—confidence is medicine. I want clients to feel seen, cared for, and empowered in their transformation.
As you build your digital footprint and position yourself as an authority in aesthetic medicine, what core values or expertise do you want your online presence to reflect—and why is that so important to you?
My online presence is built on trust, transparency, and authenticity. I’m committed to breaking down barriers in aesthetic medicine and making high-quality skincare more approachable and inclusive for all—particularly for those who haven’t always seen themselves reflected in the industry. I lead with education and clinical expertise while also creating a space where women feel safe, seen, and celebrated. Representation, real results, and meaningful conversations are the foundation of everything I share. Every post, story, or video is designed to be both an invitation into the world of advanced skincare and an affirmation of each client’s unique journey.
