Hey there, lovely HerReaders! We recently had the pleasure of attending an event that turned out to be a delightful surprise at The Bakery Co-Working Space. What was supposed to be a crash course on turning ideas into business plans and securing funding turned into an organic, heartwarming conversation with inspiring women who've carved their own paths to success. Let's dive into the details of "Baked From Scratch."
Unexpected Wisdom Over Wine
The evening began with high expectations as my business partner and I looked forward to gaining insights into business planning and funding strategies. Little did we know, we were in for something even better. Instead of charts and graphs, we found ourselves in the company of incredible women who openly shared their journeys from the highs to the lows of entrepreneurship. It felt like a conversation with girlfriends, complete with glasses of wine and laughter.
Empowering Female Entrepreneurs
The room was buzzing with positivity and a shared determination to conquer the world of business. Our speakers for the evening were none other than the remarkable Robreauna Ruiz and Sienna Brown, who left us in awe of their achievements.
Robreauna Ruiz: A Beauty Mogul's Inspiring Journey
Robreauna Ruiz, the brains behind Sugar Baby Creamery, is a force to be reckoned with. Hailing from Berkeley, California, she made Atlanta her home in 2020. Robreauna initially made her mark in the beauty industry as one of Atlanta's top lash artists, working with celebrities and gaining substantial success. This success paved the way for her lash brand, Fash N' Lash, and a curly hair company, CurlCandi, which became a sensation in Atlanta.
But Robreauna's entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there. Inspired by a summer visit to California in 2018, she introduced Atlanta to Rolled Ice Cream through Sugar Baby Creamery, an upscale ice cream shop with a captivating aesthetic. Her vision was not only to serve delicious ice cream but also to create an aesthetically pleasing environment, making it a destination for adults and children alike.
Robreauna's story is one of triumph over adversity, as she revealed that her mother tragically died from gun violence when she was just a baby. Remarkably, on the anniversary of her mother's passing, she signed the lease for her business. It's a testament to her strength and resilience that continues to inspire us all.
Sienna Brown: From Lip Gloss to Empowerment
Sienna Brown, the CEO and Founder of Glosshood, wowed us with her journey. She shared how, from as early as the age of 4, she had a personal brand that always included lip gloss. She talked about her past job where she worked with celebrities and planed events , but she was happy.
From the backseat of an Uber to the forefront of beauty, we proved that inspiration knows no boundaries. Sometimes, all it takes is a spark of creativity and a dash of spontaneity to turn a simple idea into a glossy adventure.
Glosshood offers naturally luscious lip gloss that encourages playfulness and self-discovery. Sienna's story is a testament to the power of a personal connection to a product and the sense of community it can create. Her brand is now available in over 650 stores, and it's set to make waves in Sephora in 2024.
