Interview with Karlettè Jones

You’ve faced significant health challenges, including Graves’ Disease and Congestive Heart Failure. How have these experiences shaped your approach to both life and business and what drives you to push forward despite the obstacles?

Facing significant health challenges like Graves’ Disease and Congestive Heart Failure has completely reshaped my approach to both life and business. These experiences taught me that time is precious, and I refuse to waste it on anything that does not align with my purpose. I have learned the importance of resilience, self-care, and faith, and those values now guide every decision I make.

In business, I operate with intentionality and urgency. I no longer wait for the “perfect moment” because I understand that life is unpredictable. My health battles have given me a unique perspective on perseverance, allowing me to approach challenges with a solutions-based mindset rather than fear. I have built my brand and career not just on ambition, but on the understanding that success is about impact, helping others build their dreams while honoring my own.

What drives me forward despite the obstacles? Purpose. I know I’m meant to inspire, lead, and break barriers in my industry. Every setback has fueled my determination to create a lasting legacy, proving that no obstacle, health-related or otherwise, can stop me from achieving greatness.

Your work at K-Way Branding LLC has made a lasting impact across the beauty, sports, entertainment, and fashion industries. How do you continue to inspire and empower your clients to elevate their brands, especially when navigating personal challenges?

At K-Way Branding LLC, my mission is to not only build brands but to empower the people behind them. I know firsthand how personal challenges can test your resilience, but I also believe that adversity can fuel greatness. I encourage my clients to lean into their authenticity, helping them turn their stories, both struggles and triumphs, into powerful brand narratives that resonate.

I lead by example, showing my clients that setbacks do not define you, your response does. Whether I am working with beauty entrepreneurs, athletes, entertainers, or fashion innovators, I push them to own their uniqueness, embrace their journeys, and confidently step into their influence. My approach is hands-on and deeply personal, I don’t just strategize, I uplift, reminding them that their vision is valid and their impact is necessary.

Even when navigating my own challenges, I stay committed to innovation, adaptability, and purpose-driven storytelling. I make sure my clients know that their brand is bigger than them, it is about the lives they touch, the legacies they build, and the culture they shape. That is what keeps me going, and that’s the energy I pass on to them.

You often speak about the importance of not letting health issues define you. What advice would you give to women facing health struggles who feel discouraged about pursuing their dreams or achieving their goals?

My biggest advice to women facing health struggles is this: Your condition is a part of your story, but it is not your whole story. It does not define you, and it does not disqualify you from success. I know what it feels like to battle a body that doesn’t always cooperate, to feel exhausted, uncertain, or even discouraged, but I also know that purpose doesn’t pause for pain—you are still worthy of pursuing your dreams, even on your hardest days.

First, give yourself grace. Healing—whether physical, emotional, or mental—takes time, and it is okay to adjust your pace. Rest is not a weakness; it’s fuel. Second, find your why—the deeper reason that pushes you forward despite the obstacles. When your purpose is greater than your pain, you will find the strength you never knew you had.

Surround yourself with a support system that uplifts you, whether that’s family, friends, mentors, or a community of women who understand your journey. And lastly, advocate for yourself—in your health, your career, and your dreams. Don’t let fear keep you from taking up space. You are powerful, capable, and deserving of everything you desire. Keep going, even if you have to take it one step at a time. Your story is still being written.

Can you share how your personal journey of perseverance and resilience has influenced the stories you craft for your clients, and how you incorporate that spirit into your work?

My journey of perseverance and resilience is not just something that I have lived, it is the foundation of how I approach branding and storytelling for my clients. I know what it means to overcome obstacles, pivot when necessary, and keep pushing forward despite setbacks, and I bring that same mindset into my work.

When crafting stories for my clients, I focus on authenticity, impact, and inspiration. I don’t believe in surface-level branding, I believe in storytelling that moves people, builds connections, and leaves a legacy. I encourage my clients to embrace their journeys, including their struggles, because that is what makes their brands relatable and powerful. Whether they are in beauty, sports, entertainment, or fashion, I help them see that their challenges are not limitations,

they are testaments to their strength.

I incorporate this spirit into my work by leading with passion and purpose. I remind my clients that every great brand is built on a story of resilience and that their voice, their experiences, and their vision matter. By showing them how to turn obstacles into opportunities, I empower them to step into their brands with confidence and clarity. At K-Way Branding LLC, we don’t just create brands, we build movements, and that starts with embracing the power of perseverance
